Sweat. Cry.  Soak. Cleanse.  Repeat.

What do tears, sweat, and the ocean have in common?

Salt.

Salt has steadily become my go-to ingredient when I need to crack myself open or start the process of releasing whatever junk is building up in my energy field—or in my family’s.

Think about it. When you sweat, when you cry, when you submerge yourself in saltwater—there’s something grounding, therapeutic, and relieving about it. When your muscles are sore, you take a salt bath to soothe the ache. When you’re sad—or for me, when I’m angry—I cry. And it works like a pressure release valve for my whole system. When you move your body and start sweating, you’re releasing toxins, getting your blood flowing, and moving stuck energy.

And when you dip into the ocean, you can’t tell me you don’t feel connected to something greater than all of us. Saltwater restores.

When things feel crunchy or heavy at home, I like to put a bowl of salt on our kitchen counter. It lives in our Family + New Beginnings Gua, and it’s close enough to the center of our house to ripple out. That little bowl of salt begins gently soaking up the low-frequency energy hanging out in our space and in our personal field of influence. After 24 hours, we throw the salt away outside, thank it for the work it’s done, and if it feels like we need another round, we repeat the process.

So today’s assignment is simple:

Reach for the salt.

Go for a run, take a yoga class, walk in the heat—sweat it out.
Sometimes I cry while I move. I talk out loud to that power that connects all of us, and let the tears come while I’m running—it feels like a $200 therapy session. I always come back feeling like a new person.

Put a bowl of salt out in your home. Even the tiniest bowl will do.
Fill her up and let her do her thing.

And if you’re like me and need the ocean to remind you that you’re small—but a big part of this whole thing—go say hello to her. Pretend to be a mermaid and get sand in all the places. And if the ocean isn’t accessible, soak in a salt bath or scrub yourself down and feel yourself come back to who you truly are.

If you're feeling like you need a reset to gear up for fall, back to school, or just life—don’t throw out your 2025 planner.
You don’t need to start over.
You just need a reset.
