It takes energy to create energy.

One of my favorite things about feng shui is how practical and accessible it is. All you need is a little bit of sweat equity to get the momentum going.

Cultivating flow creates the conditions for life to unfold. And believe me, life will still happen. But when you’re in flow, you bounce back faster, ride the waves with more ease, and make decisions that feel good and aligned.

You’re less rocked by life. And let’s be real - it’s a dumpster fire out there at any given time. Harmonizing your home and office helps you stay grounded so the chaos doesn’t toss you around like a rag doll.

It’s simple, really. When you start to shift the energy around you, you gain discernment, flow, and visibility. That combination creates the outcomes of money, wealth, health, love, and everything else you’re chasing.

Simple tasks that show love to your home, your office, and yourself create results that compound over time. You feel better. You’re more decisive. You’re more optimistic. You show up differently. People notice. And life starts unfolding the way you’ve been hoping it would.

Your Sweat Equity Feng Shui Homework

Honestly, this would be the first thing I’d tell you to do if we were working together - so consider these your prerequisites:

1. Take care of the maintenance that’s right in front of you.
Make a list of what needs to be fixed, repaired, or replaced - light bulbs, broken knobs, jammed doors, leaks, and so on. Start with the easy wins you can knock out quickly, then make a plan for the rest. Give yourself a due date or call a handyman to handle it this weekend. Your home or office will reward you for the effort.

2. Unblock your entryway.
When I go to someone’s house for a consultation, I don’t care if it looks lived in. Please use your house - it’s not a showroom. But your entryway needs to be clear. Give this area a good cleaning, edit it down, and find a new home for the pile of shoes or Amazon boxes.

3. Give the things you love prime real estate.
You deserve to be surrounded by what you love. Walk around your home, office, or any space you control and notice what’s there that brings you joy. If it’s not in a prime spot, move it where it can shine. And if you see things you don’t love, you’ve just given yourself permission to edit. A trip to the donation center might be in your future.

4. Clean up your yard and front door.
Before energy enters your home, it’s influenced by what’s outside. If your first impression is on the struggle bus, the energy coming in has already seen some things. Get your hands dirty - remove dead plants, cut back overgrown bushes, pull weeds, and sweep the porch. Wash the front door, add color with pots or a wreath, and make sure the path is clear. You want your front door to be irresistible to energy. If a trick-or-treater can’t find your door, neither can opportunity, possibility, love, or money.

The quality of energy has nothing to do with how much you spend. Learning to love your home is free.
