Chasing Lions: The Story Behind the Name
When I started Chasing Lions, it was never just about feng shui. Or furniture placement. Or paint colors.
It was (and still is) about freedom.
Freedom from rules you didn’t agree to but somehow ended up living by.
Freedom from the myth that luck is reserved for the “lucky ones.”
Freedom from the idea that beauty is something you have to earn, or that your home has to look like a magazine spread to matter.
Here’s the bigger picture. The why behind Chasing Lions: fortune and abundance belong to everyone. Including you.
I believe in the beauty of individuality.
In homes filled with laughter, color, and personal stories—not just picture-perfect design trends.
I love the wild, the quirky, the untamed spirit within you.
Life doesn’t have to be polished to be perfect. The beautiful chaos of raising kids, chasing dreams, and creating spaces that evolve with you is worth celebrating.
And here’s the truth: the boundaries you think are holding you back? They’re not real.
The chains you feel around your ankles? They aren’t attached to anything.
Scarcity is a story someone else told you, and you don’t have to keep believing it.
You have power over your environment. You have control over your luck.
When you love and care for what’s already in your orbit, it will love you back. It will bring more to you and your family—not by accident, but because you’ve stepped into your own power.
This work is about harmonizing energy, aligning your environment, and creating a home that reflects your truest self—not a cookie-cutter magazine page. Through feng shui, self-discovery, and mindful living, you can create a space that flows with ease, abundance, and joy.
And in case you’ve ever wondered, this isn’t just a nice phrase I pulled out of thin air. The name Chasing Lions comes from a moment early in my leadership journey. When I stepped into a new role leading a furniture dealership, my mentor handed me the book Chop Wood, Carry Water by Joshua Medcalf.
One story in that book talks about chasing lions on a snowy day—a metaphor for staying the course, even when the path is challenging and unclear.
That image stuck with me. It became a guiding principle in my work and my life: to face challenges with courage and purpose, trusting that every step is leading somewhere good.
So when I say Let’s chase lions together, that’s not just branding. It’s an invitation to keep going, even when it’s hard, knowing you’re building something bigger than you can see right now.
Beauty. Hope. Access. Abundance. Care.
It’s all yours. Always has been.
The book that started it all.
