Because it starts here. And it starts with love.

Lately I’ve been asking myself: what can I do when the world feels this heavy? The only answer that keeps coming back is… start at home.

When we feel safe and supported in our homes, that energy ripples outward. It shifts how we show up in our communities, our work, our families. And that’s when real change becomes possible.

Not hate.
Not fear.
Not “my way is the only way.”

But love.

So, here’s what I’m doing to bring more protection, peace, and grounding into my home right now:

1. A fresh layer of black salt around the house.
It’s been about a year since I created an energetic dome around our home to absorb and detour negative energy. It was time for a refresher!

You only need 2–3 ingredients: fire pit ashes, activated charcoal, or black pepper plus sea salt or kosher salt. Mix them 50/50 in a big bowl and sprinkle the mixture around your property line or your home’s foundation.

I added rosemary oil for extra protection and blessings. Win-win in my book.

Ingredients: Salt + Ashes + Rosemary

Mix it all up and sprinkle, sprinkle, sprinkle.

2. Moving my body to release stuck energy.
For me, that looks like running in the hot Texas sun. It’s better than snapping because I’m stressed. It feels like opening a pressure-release valve. If you are following me on Instagram, you know I call these my unhinged, hot runs because they are exactly that.

Moving energy out of my body creates space for something better. Remember: your energy is one of the most powerful catalysts for change.

Like Elle Woods says: “Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don’t kill their husbands… they just don’t!” (Or other humans.)

3. Bringing in earth energy for grounding.
Earth energy is the peacemaker of the five elements, and it’s what we grab for when grounding is in order. I’d say we are there, folks.

Ways to add earth energy: rugs, square objects, heavy furniture or stones, earthy colors, salt, crystals, or symbols of peace.

We can’t keep rugs out right now (elderly pup life), so I leaned on symbols and weight instead. I moved our jade elephant front and center at the entry, then gave him clear quartz and black tourmaline to carry.

The elephant is literally heavy (grounding) and symbolically powerful: wisdom, abundance, protection. I love that kind of layering.

Jade elephant = grounding, wisdom and protection. Paired with clear quartz and black tourmaline for an extra boost of protection and clarity.

These are small things. But small things shift energy. And when we all shift, even a little, that’s when big things become possible.

If you’ve been feeling the heaviness too, try one of these in your own home this week. Let your space hold you so you can show up stronger, softer, and more yourself in the world.

It starts here. And it starts with love.
